Job Title: Financial Assistance Caseworker

Position Summary:
The Financial Assistance Caseworker is responsible for determining client eligibility and administering benefits under the Indian General Assistance and Miscellaneous Financial Assistance Programs. This role serves as a liaison between clients and community resources supports the Social Services Director and promotes enhanced services for Pyramid Lake residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview clients and assess eligibility for financial assistance.
- Verify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop case plans to promote client self-sufficiency.
- Calculate benefit payments in accordance with Federal State and Tribal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
- Conduct home visits and coordinate with the Tribal Work Experience Program.
- Refer clients to external agencies and assist with application processes.
- Support distribution of commodity foods and provide transportation assistance.
- Represent the department at community events and evaluate service effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of welfare programs office procedures and Native American culture.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Valid Nevada drivers license and insurability required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in social services or financial assistance.
