JOB SUMMARY
The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at California State University San Bernardino invites applications for a Graduate Assistant (GA) position for the 2025-26 academic year. This position provides an excellent opportunity for graduate students to gain valuable experience in both research and teaching while contributing to the departments mission. Graduate Assistants will work under the supervision of faculty members in the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice. The GA will support faculty research initiatives assist with course instruction and help foster student learning.
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Typical activities of Graduate Assistants may include: (1) assisting faculty with research tasks such as literature reviews data collection data entry coding transcription statistical analysis and preparing research materials; (2) supporting the development of manuscripts presentations and grant proposals; (3) assisting with teaching-related tasks including preparing course materials grading assignments leading discussions or lab sessions holding office hours and providing student support; (4) attending regular meetings with supervising faculty to discuss progress and responsibilities; and (5) performing other academic duties as assigned that contribute to the teaching and research mission of the school.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is one of the larger departments at CSUSB with 13 full-time and seven part-time faculty approximately 50 graduate students and approximately 700 undergraduate students. The School offers two undergraduate degree programs including a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a B.S. in Crime Analysis. The School also houses one masters degree program: M.A. in Criminal Justice.
