Advantra is partnering with a high growth biotech software startup in San Francisco to hire a Founding SDR to build and scale the outbound sales process for enterprise customers.

About the role

You will be the first GTM hire working directly with the CEO to design and execute the sales development process. The role includes sourcing leads running outbound campaigns qualifying prospects managing conference outreach and supporting technical scoping with engineering. You will help turn founder-led sales into a repeatable system that builds enterprise pipeline with top pharma and biotech customers.

Responsibilities
  1. Research and identify new leads through conferences publications and partnerships.

  2. Build outbound email and LinkedIn campaigns using Apollo Clay and related tools.

  3. Engage inbound leads from events content and social channels.

  4. Qualify prospects and track engagement through the sales pipeline.

  5. Coordinate with engineering to scope customer projects and product demos.

  6. Support enterprise procurement processes for large biotech and pharma accounts.

  7. Attend drug discovery conferences and manage on-site sales efforts.

  8. Maintain CRM hygiene and report on lead conversion metrics.

  9. Document and refine sales processes for future team scaling.

Core requirements
  1. 2 to 5 years in a sales or SDR role with enterprise accounts.

  2. Closed or influenced 5 to 7 figure ACV deals in SaaS or startup settings.

  3. Experience using Apollo Clay or similar outbound tools.

  4. Proven record of pipeline generation through creative sourcing.

  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  6. Comfort working directly with founders and engineers.

  7. Ability to travel for conferences and customer meetings.

  8. Based in person in San Francisco.

  9. Interest in learning about drug discovery and biopharma.

  10. Organized approach to tracking leads and follow-ups.

Nice to have
  1. Experience selling technical or life sciences products.

  2. Familiarity with biotech or pharma industry workflows.

  3. Hands-on skills with CRM automation or data enrichment tools.

  4. Prior startup experience in a fast-paced GTM environment.

  5. Exposure to AI or software-driven R&D products.

Compensation

Competitive base plus equity.
