Founding Engineer

San Francisco CA. On site. Full time.

Advantra is partnering with an early stage AI software startup in San Francisco to hire a Founding Engineer to build pipelines and interfaces that make government contract data actionable for users.

You will build systems that process large volumes of government data and create interfaces that help users browse and interpret it. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs design intuitive UI using React and NextJS and ship features quickly. The role involves building AI-driven tools and collaborating with founders and engineers to deliver practical solutions for mission-critical national security workflows.

1. Build pipelines to process and organize government data.
   

2. Develop user interfaces with React and NextJS.
   

3. Collaborate with users to gather feedback and refine product experience.
   

4. Implement AI-driven tools and LLM-based workflows.
   

5. Ship full-stack features with engineering quickly.
   

6. Present work to customers and incorporate feedback.
   

7. Iterate on designs based on user interaction and performance metrics.
   

8. Ensure software meets reliability and usability standards.
   

9. Contribute to architecture decisions for data pipelines and frontend interfaces.
   

1. Experience building AI agents or working with LLMs.
   

2. Experience developing full-stack web applications using React and NextJS.
   

3. Comfortable presenting technical solutions to customers.
   

4. Experience gathering and translating user feedback into actionable designs.
   

5. 2 years experience building data pipelines or processing large datasets.
   

6. Ability to iterate quickly and ship features in a startup environment.
   

7. Strong problem-solving skills for complex workflows.
   

8. Experience working in-person with cross-functional teams.
   

9. Familiarity with AI-first interface design principles.
   

10. Passion for solving mission-critical problems in national security or related fields.
    

1. Experience with government or defense data.
   

2. Prior startup experience in early-stage companies.
   

3. Knowledge of data visualization techniques.
   

4. Experience with full-stack engineering best practices.
   

5. Familiarity with agile product development workflows.
