Job Summary

Job Title: Infrastructure Project Manager (Network Consolidation Cisco/VMware Cybersecurity CUNY Shared Services)

Location: 100% Remote

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Requirements:

1. Project Planning and Execution
  • Develop maintain and oversee comprehensive project plans outlining timelines milestones deliverables and dependencies.
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of project initiatives ensuring adherence to scope schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders to promote collaboration alignment and timely task completion.
  • Manage project change control processes - documenting assessing and obtaining approval for modifications to scope budget or timeline.
  • Maintain accurate project records including decisions documentation and deliverable repositories for audit and reference.
  • Create and maintain project activity trackers visual workflows and stakeholder presentations using Visio PowerPoint and Excel to communicate project progress effectively across all CUNY levels.
2. Risk Management and Issue Resolution
  • Identify potential risks early in the project lifecycle and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and update risk registers to ensure issues are tracked addressed and minimized.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve project challenges promptly escalating complex issues to leadership when necessary.
3. Budget Management
  • Track analyze and report on project expenditures to ensure financial compliance within approved budgets.
  • Recommend and implement cost-optimization strategies to enhance budget efficiency without compromising quality.
4. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver consistent project status reports highlighting progress risks and key decisions.
  • Facilitate clear and transparent communication among project teams stakeholders and external partners to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
  • Lead steering committee meetings weekly project sessions and ad-hoc discussions to maintain engagement and decision-making momentum.
5. Team Leadership and Collaboration
  • Provide tactical direction and guidance to project team members to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Promote a collaborative team culture that values open communication shared knowledge and accountability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across departments to ensure coordinated execution and successful project delivery.
6. Technical Expertise and Guidance
  • Demonstrate a strong technical foundation in network architecture IP management and shared intranet environment design.
  • Lead planning and execution sessions for server workload migrations in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and campus IT teams.
  • Provide technical insight and guidance to ensure that infrastructure solutions align with best practices and institutional standards.

    Mandatory Qualifications
1. Technical Expertise
  • Strong foundation in network architecture with hands-on experience in designing and implementing secure communication channels such as VPNs.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles including tools and practices like Proofpoint and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components - networking virtualization and storage systems.
  • Proficient in working with enterprise technologies including Cisco Systems VMware NetApp and Nutanix.
  • Skilled in IP management including oversight and modification of IP scope configurations across multiple campuses.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end server migration processes - planning execution and issue resolution.
  • Adept at creating comprehensive documentation for system architecture configurations and operational workflows to support effective IT management.
2. Project Management
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications such as Project Teams Outlook Word PowerPoint Visio and particularly Excel.
  • Ability to interpret and convert business requirements into effective technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Demonstrated experience developing detailed project plans for large-scale university-wide network infrastructure deployments and configurations.
  • Skilled in coordinating and managing projects involving 20 50 stakeholders ensuring clear communication timely execution and successful outcomes.
3. Collaboration and Communication
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for building strong working relationships with a diverse university community - including faculty staff technical teams and students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills enabling facilitation of group discussions delivery of client presentations and effective engagement with both technical and non-technical audiences.
