What youll do:

As an Associate in the China Corporates Department within the Global Corporate Banking Division you will immerse yourself in a role that balances client engagement with operational excellence. Your day-to-day activities will involve close cooperation with relationship managers as you work together to identify new business opportunities support existing client relationships and ensure optimal use of corporate banking products. By collaborating with various product teams you will help deliver comprehensive financial solutions that meet client needs while also focusing on risk management through diligent credit monitoring. Success in this role comes from your ability to communicate effectively across teams manage multiple priorities efficiently and uphold rigorous compliance standardsall while contributing positively to shared goals within a nurturing team environment.

  • Support relationship managers in promoting corporate banking products to achieve net operating profit targets and acquire new clients aligned with departmental objectives.

  • Assist in planning and setting strategic objectives that align with the banks long-term vision contributing to sustainable business growth.

  • Collaborate effectively with Product Offices by leveraging their expertise to optimise balance sheets and enhance customer satisfaction through tailored solutions.

  • Drive cross-selling initiatives across transaction banking offshore and domestic services foreign exchange derivatives and other relevant products to maximise the benefits of integrated offerings.

  • Monitor customer performance and credit status regularly taking prompt action when necessary to maintain asset quality and mitigate risk.

  • Ensure all departmental actions including regional key performance indicators are completed accurately within stipulated turnaround times while maintaining high standards of standardisation.

  • Uphold full compliance with prevailing regulations by demonstrating ethical behaviour and adhering strictly to internal controls as part of the first line of defence.

  • Complete additional assignments as directed by senior colleagues or management contributing positively to team objectives.

What you bring:

To excel as an Associate in this division your background should reflect proven experience within the corporate banking sectorideally gained over several years working directly with clients or supporting relationship management functions. Your academic achievements demonstrate your commitment to learning while your language abilities enable you to connect meaningfully with both local and international clients. Beyond technical proficiency your interpersonal skills set you apart: you are dependable considerate of others perspectives and always ready to share knowledge or lend support when needed.   • A university degree in Business or related discipline provides you with the foundational knowledge required for success in this role.

  • Three to six years of experience in corporate banking equips you with practical insights into industry operations and client expectations.

  • A strong commercial sense enables you to identify profitable opportunities while understanding the nuances of corporate banking products.

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese allows you to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders across regions.

  • Solid PC skills ensure you can navigate essential software tools efficiently for reporting analysis and communication purposes.

  • A collaborative approach helps foster positive relationships within teams and across departments for seamless service delivery.

  • Attention to detail supports accurate completion of tasks within required timelines while maintaining high standards of quality control.
