About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager Construction to join our growing team supporting a large national energy account based in Richmond CA. This role will oversee a diverse portfolio of capital improvement and renovation projects for a single client within a national scope.
As a Senior Project Manager youll lead a team of project managers and collaborate closely with clients contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely efficiently and within scope budget and schedule. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the companys mission of creating safe sustainable and innovative workplaces across corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Oversight: Lead mentor and support a team of project managers to ensure accountability performance and successful project outcomes.
- Project Management: Oversee all phases of multiple construction projectsplanning design coordination scheduling procurement risk management and closeout.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors ensuring open communication issue resolution and adherence to contract terms.
- Financial Management: Analyze budgets develop costs estimates prepare proposals and identify potential risks with proactive project recovery planning.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to safety programs building codes regulatory standards and environmental best practices.
- Project Controls: Manage project controls documentation field operations and commissioning activities in line with company standards and client expectations.
- Reporting: Deliver regular progress updates financial summaries and performance metrics to leadership and client stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency reduce costs and improve quality and client satisfaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Must Have):
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of management experience leading construction or facility projects.
- Minimum 3 years of functional project management experience including project controls scheduling and financial forecasting.
- Proven experience managing complex projects including MEP systems and active-site renovations.
- Strong command of project management systems financial tracking and documentation control.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word) Adobe Visio and scheduling/estimating software.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple teams and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing construction projects within corporate energy or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g. PMI Lean Construction).
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient design.
- PMP certification or equivalent professional credential preferred.
