Job Summary
Painter NCCER
Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting and paint equipment parts machinery buildings and other working areas using a spray gun brush and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads work order and receives instructions verbally.
- Prepares surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt oil grease removing old paint smoothing cracks and filling holes.
- May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color according to specifications using paddle or mechanical mixer.
- May erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform task above ground level.
- Apply paint to surface using a spray gun brush and/or roller.
- Using manual or spraying systems to prepare tools and surfaces.
- Mixing paints and operating blasting equipment and spray guns.
- Sandblasting Applying coatings.
- Performing post-paint processes such as grinding polishing sealing caulking and sanding.
- Operating various types of equipment such as blast pots and spray guns.
- Work at heights with no fear.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education no minimum education requirements.
Certification/License: Valid ID or Drivers License and NCCER Certification Required.
Experience 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
