We are looking for an individual to lead to ICFs business in power and RE consulting in India and South Asia. An ideal candidate would be technically sound in power systems have a deep understanding of the fundamentals of Indian power markets knowledge of the full value chain covering generation transmission and distribution understanding of grid operations deep knowledge of central and state regulations experience in systems modelling and cutting-edge knowledge about emerging technologies such as BESS. You must be growth oriented passionate about clean energy and have an ability to work collaboratively in teams under matrix structures. ICF is a global leader in clean energy consulting you will have the support of international teams of ICF to grow the business in India and the neighboring countries.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage the P&L for power and renewables consulting business for ICF in India and South Asia

• Generate consulting business to build a large and sustainable power and RE consulting practice covering India and South Asia.

• Lead delivery of power sector projects across a range of clients (Government Donor private sector).

• Build ICF brand presence in market by speaking at key events writing articles whitepapers covering latest developments power sector.

• Provide inputs to regulators policy makers and transmission system planners on long term planning and operations of Indias power grid.

• Build a strong team and create internal capabilities by mentoring team members on core power sector issues.

• Support large multi-million-dollar pursuits in power and clean energy business across the South Asia region

Skills and experience:

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from reputed institution

• Masters degree in electrical engineering or MBA

• 20 years of experience in power markets in India across generation transmission and distribution covering policy & regulatory power systems modelling due diligence market assessment etc.

• CXO level relationships in the power sector

• Business development experience in consulting firms covering lead generation proposal preparation and closure desirable.

Key attributes

• Must be a visible expert in the power sector in India

• Strong understanding of power grid operations regulations (state and centre) markets (exchanges) generation (thermal RE) demand patterns.

• Modelling expertise: power system modelling demand modelling generation modelling transmission modelling distribution modelling ancillary market modelling

• Must have strong relationships and recall with power sector professionals in government (CERC Grid Controller PTC PFC IREDA MoP CEA) development institutions (World Bank ADB GIZ) and corporate sector (Gencos transmission distribution)

• Understanding of developed power markets and how they operate.
