Position Summary:
The Part-Time Art Teacher Special Projects is responsible for delivering dynamic hands-on art experiences to K12 students both off-site at local schools and on-site at our Fine Art Location in Willoughby. This role includes designing and leading creative art and craft projects during field trip visits to schools as well as structured programs hosted at the center. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic adaptable and passionate about arts education.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan prepare and teach engaging art and craft projects appropriate for various age levels.
Travel to local schools to facilitate field trip art sessions; transport and set up all necessary supplies.
Lead in-house school-day art programs at the Willoughby location.
Ensure a positive inclusive and safe learning environment for all students.
Handle setup breakdown and cleanup for each session including proper material storage.
Communicate effectively with school staff parents and organizational team members.
Maintain a professional and inspiring presence as a representative of the Fine Art program.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the CEO.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art Art Education or a closely related field.
Strong background in visual arts and art-making techniques.
Experience working with children or youth in an educational or instructional capacity.
Ability to manage a classroom environment independently and engage students effectively.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Must pass a background check.
Preferred:
Teaching experience in school settings camps museums or community arts programs.
Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting lessons accordingly.
Familiarity with child safety and classroom management practices.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and transport art supplies and materials (up to 25 lbs).
Able to stand walk bend and engage with students for extended periods.
Comfortable driving to various school locations.
