We are seeking Tamil Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Tamil is a critical South Asian language widely spoken in India Sri Lanka and the global Tamil diaspora and is often required for asylum and immigration cases.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Tamil English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers applicants and stakeholders.
Deliver interpretation with accuracy neutrality and confidentiality in immigration and legal contexts.
Adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics and compliance standards.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Tamil and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal medical community or government preferred).
Strong understanding of interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural awareness.
Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
