Senior Scientist, Assay Development

We are seeking a Senior Scientist Assay Development to join IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca NY.

As a Senior Scientist Assay Development you will lead the design development and optimization of analytical methods and assays ensuring high-quality delivery and scalability across laboratory operations.

What youll be doing:

• Plan and execute assay and method development processes with moderate complexity.
• Write and validate analytical methods and support analytical testing as needed.
• Troubleshoot assays and apply root cause analysis for process optimization.
• Lead technical projects and mentor junior staff to ensure project deliverables.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure methods are scalable and sustainable.
• Transfer developed methods to validation and operational teams.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Support lab equipment maintenance and evaluate new instrumentation.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in assay or method development.
• Proficiency in scientific techniques and instrumentation relevant to assay development.
• Other equivalent combination of education training and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The knowledge skills and abilities needed for this role:

• Extracting and doing LCMS on small molecules and pharmaceutical drugs
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with knowledge of root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and good documentation practices.
• Effective communication organizational and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word.
