We are seeking Sinhalese (Sinhala) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Sinhalese widely spoken in Sri Lanka is a rare but critical South Asian language for asylum and immigration proceedings.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Sinhalese English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers applicants and stakeholders.
Deliver services with accuracy impartiality and professionalism.
Maintain strict confidentiality under USCIS/DHS compliance standards.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation needs.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Sinhalese (Sinhala) and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal government or healthcare preferred).
Strong understanding of interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural awareness.
Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
