We are seeking Serbo-Croatian Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Serbo-Croatian covering Serbian Croatian Bosnian and Montenegrin dialects is a priority Balkan language group for asylum and immigration proceedings.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Serbo-Croatian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers applicants and stakeholders.
Interpret accurately impartially and confidentially in immigration legal and administrative settings.
Adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter standards and ethics.
Manage both scheduled and urgent/surge assignments.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and QA audits.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Serbo-Croatian (Serbian Croatian Bosnian or Montenegrin) and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration legal government or community preferred).
Familiarity with interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural awareness.
Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
