Job Duties

To provide social work interventions for inpatient psychiatric patients including psychosocial assessments provision of psychosocial services and discharge planning to ensure that appropriate community supports for stable community living and recovery are available and accessible.

Minimum Qualifications

MSW from an accredited graduate school of social work
Case work/group work experience.
If licensed must maintain LCSW license and remain in good standing throughout employment.

This position will also require:
Advance knowledge of social work interventions particularly casework and group work is essential.
Advanced knowledge of mental illnesses substance abuse/addiction and skills related to psychosocial rehabilitation/recovery models of intervention.
Knowledgeable of community systems of care and services and the skills to access them. Ability to serve as a member of interdisciplinary teams and/or committees to accomplish objectives.
Effective communication skills with ability to interact with patients family members and community-based organizations as well as with coworkers.

Additional Considerations

Experience as a Social Worker in a psychiatric healthcare facility acute care long-term or correctional setting.
Veterans and people with National Service.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
