Quality Improvement Assistant
Position Summary: Assists the Quality and ComplianceManager in all aspects of the Compass Regional Hospice (Compass) QAPI program.
Reports To: The Quality and Compliance Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Responsibilities and Functions:
  • Monitors patient clinical records concurrently and retrospectively utilizing established outcome criteria.
  • Assists the Quality and Compliance Manager with maintaining compliance with CMS Quality Reporting Requirements.
  • Coordinates data collection for benchmarking purposes.
  • Assist with assessing planning implementing and evaluating the performance improvement programs of the organization.
  • Assists the Quality and Compliance Manager in coordinating development of performance improvement studies.
  • Assists in the analysis of needs and resources of Compass and in the formulation and development of goals and plans for Compass.
  • Assists the Quality and Compliance Manager with reviewing revising and implementing policies and procedures in accordance with Compass policy to maintain compliance with State and Federal Regulations and CHAP Standards.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of employees patient/client and agency information at all times.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting required
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Experience in QA CQI or PI preferred
  • Knowledge of requirements for the provision of hospice care
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation
Requirements:
  • Complete hospice orientation
  • Support the hospice concept of care
  • Be flexible and able to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Be able to work harmoniously with many different types of individuals and groups
  • Advances knowledge and skills; attends in-services and workshops as appropriate
  • An ability to cope with the stress of continual loss
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm (on-site)
FLSA Status: This is a full-time position and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
