Quality Improvement Assistant Position Summary: The Quality Improvement Assistant provides support to the Quality & Compliance Manager in all areas of the Compass Regional Hospice (Compass) Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. This position plays a key role in ensuring that quality and compliance standards are upheld throughout the organization. Reports To: The Quality Improvement Assistant reports directly to the Quality and Compliance Manager. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities and Functions: - Monitor patient clinical records both concurrently and retrospectively using established outcome criteria to ensure quality care and compliance.
- Assist the Quality and Compliance Manager in maintaining compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Reporting Requirements.
- Coordinate the collection of data for benchmarking purposes supporting continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Participate in assessing planning implementing and evaluating the organizations performance improvement programs.
- Support the Quality and Compliance Manager in organizing and developing performance improvement studies.
- Help analyze Compasss needs and resources contributing to the development and formulation of organizational goals and plans.
- Collaborate with the Quality and Compliance Manager in reviewing revising and implementing policies and procedures to ensure alignment with Compass policy State and Federal Regulations and Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) Standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all employees patient/client and agency information at all times.
- Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications: - Minimum of two years of experience working in a healthcare setting is required.
- One to two years of experience in Quality Assurance Compliance & Quality Improvement or Performance Improvement is required.
- Knowledge of requirements for the provision of hospice care is preferred.
- Must be self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications is required.
- In-depth understanding and application of accepted professional standards is expected.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for the role.
- Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations.
Requirements: - Completion of hospice orientation is required.
- Must support the hospice concept of care.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
- Capable of working harmoniously with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Commitment to advancing knowledge and skills including attendance at in-services and workshops as appropriate.
- Ability to cope with the ongoing stress associated with continual loss is necessary.
Schedule: This full-time on-site position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM FLSA Status: This is a full-time position and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
