QC Water Chemist
Role Overview:
Responsible for overseeing Quality Control (QC) activities related to water and utility parameters in a Carbon Black manufacturing facility. This role begins with establishing QC infrastructure during the project phase and transitions into managing water and oil testing during operations. Ensures lab compliance with NABL and global safety standards while supporting continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct testing of water parameters (Turbidity TDS Hardness COD BOD Alkalinity Chlorine) and oils to maintain plant and utility standards.

Perform regular calibration documentation and maintenance of laboratory equipment in line with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Provide real-time feedback to the utility team to optimize boiler and plant efficiency.

Maintain laboratory upkeep as per 5S Quality Circle and audit standards.

Implement and monitor global safety practices and ensure compliance with OHS requirements.
-
Participate in Quality Circle KSS and training initiatives to improve team competency and testing accuracy.
Challenges & Goals:

Setting up lab infrastructure in a greenfield environment.
-
Maintaining testing accuracy and international proficiency standards.
-
Reducing quality issues and customer complaints while sustaining preferred supplier status.
-
Achieving and maintaining NABL accreditation through documentation and audits.
Requirements:
-
Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry or related science field.
-
Minimum 34 years experience in QC or water testing/treatment operations.
-
Hands-on experience with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 documentation and NABL requirements.
-
Proficiency in MS Office and use of statistical QC tools (7 QC Tools).
-
Strong attention to detail communication and customer-centric mindset.
-
Willing to work in a greenfield project environment; occasional travel to customer or supplier sites.
Preferred Industry Background:
Carbon Black Water Treatment Chemicals Paints Pigments Cement or Petroleum industries.
