Expressed confidence explaining rules policies or regulations clearly whether youre talking to community members coworkers or government folks. Written or spoken you know how to get your point across.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with accounting software (like QuickBooks or Quicken) and can interpret budgets or financial statements without breaking a sweat especially in a government or nonprofit setting.

- Teaches Others: Helps others learn; identifies training needs; provides constructive reinforcement; coaches others on how to perform tasks; acts as a mentor.
- Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform ones job; works with understands and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

INTERVIEW PROCESS
Interviews may be conducted in person or via Zoom and will include an exercise. The exercise will be a written exercise scored up to 20 points: 5 points for following instructions 5 points for written skills 5 points for editing/proofreading skills and 5 points for content.
If selected please provide the following at the time of the interview:
- Three (3) references with current contact information - two (2) of which need to be former supervisors.
- Last three (3) performance evaluations (if available).
SPECIAL NOTICE
This position requires frequent travel to rural communities in Alaska some of which have no commercial accommodations and requires the incumbent to sleep in city hall or in a addition travel to these rural communities may be via small planes and other conveyances.
SALARY INFORMATION
Local Government Specialist 1 (range 13) biweekly salary amount: $2568.00
Local Government Specialist 2 (range 15) biweekly salary amount: $2928.75
Local Government Specialist 3 (range 17) biweekly salary amount: $3368.25
FLEXIBLY STAFFED
This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidates credibly possessed and proven competencies. If hired at the lower level you will be promoted to the higher level after successfully completing the training plan and demonstrating competency in the work.
EDUCATION
If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications you must fill in the Education section of the application. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials if used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position.
