Job Summary
The University of Southern Maines Catherine Cutler Institute is seeking a detail oriented and proactive Employee Resource Coordinator to join their Research Service Center (RSC)team. If you are an organized solutions-oriented professional who enjoys balancing independent work with teamwork we invite you to apply and help advance USMs mission of research and innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the compliance of workforce policies procedures and systems related to sponsored projects.
- Reviewing and processing personnel actions such as position searches and reclassifications.
- Supporting recruitment and retention processes for grant-funded staff.
- Identifying and resolving internal operations issues with professionalism and discretion.
- Coordinating closely with University Human Resources and other administrative offices across the University of Maine System (UMS).
- Serving as the primary liaison between the Research Service Center and UMS HR to ensure efficient and compliant personnel operations.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment and demonstrates sound judgment attention to detail and a commitment to supporting research excellence at USM.
This a full-time position to be located on our Portland Campus with a starting annual salary of $52785.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and three years of experience using skills related to this position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated employee resource/workforce management experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronic spreadsheets and database management.
