Job Summary
Join our clients team as a Senior Data Scientist Transaction Monitoring where youll make a real social impact by detecting criminal behavior and helping prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. Youll work with analytics models to analyze transactions from 8 million customers optimizing current rule-based systems and gradually introducing advanced analytics and Machine Learning.
Location: Amstelveen The Netherlands
Employment Type: 12-month contract (possibility of extension)
Hours: 36 hours/week fixed office days Monday & Thursday
Industry: Banking / Financial Crime Analytics
Languages: English (Dutch not required)
Compensation: Competitive salary package
Your Responsibilities
Develop analyze and build rule-based TM models to uncover patterns of illegal activity
Identify and integrate new data sources in models while collaborating with functional experts
Advise management on long-term analytics strategies and contribute to the production of robust models
Take ownership of large parts of data science models ensuring high-quality code alignment with IT architecture and business
Anticipate challenges from model choices and propose effective solutions
Support medior and junior colleagues in best practices ensuring consistency across the team
Your Profile
MSc / PhD in Data Science Econometrics Mathematics or a related field
5 years of experience in advanced analytics modelling or AI ideally with large datasets
Strong hands-on experience with Python PySpark and Spark (Azure Databricks is a plus)
Proven success in bringing analytics models to production
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Analytical mindset pragmatic operational expertise and passion for financial crime prevention
