Mission

Responsibilities

  • Flash Butt Welding Operations: Operate flash butt welding machines to join grooved rails on site ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Track Installation and Repair: Perform welding tasks related to the installation maintenance and repair of grooved rails on railway tracks.
  • Pre-Welding Preparations: Prepare rails and equipment before welding ensuring proper alignment cleanliness and readiness for welding operations.
  • Post-Welding Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of welded joints to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all relevant safety guidelines and procedures ensuring a safe working environment for self and colleagues.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect maintain and calibrate welding machines and tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding activities including pre-weld and post-weld inspections equipment settings and any issues encountered.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and construction teams to ensure welding tasks are completed on schedule and to the required standards.
  • Drive and deliver the truck to the designated areas place it on the tracks and perform the welds.

Candidate Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic English Level / A1-A2

Desired Knowledge / Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating flash butt welding machines with a specific focus on grooved rails in a railway environment.
  • Certification: Valid and traceable certifications in flash butt welding from recognized authorities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of flash butt welding machines with a strong understanding of grooved rail welding techniques.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of railway track systems grooved rail specifications and relevant safety regulations.
  • Advanced Certifications: Additional certifications in related welding techniques or track work.
  • Experience with Large Projects: Previous experience working on large-scale railway projects.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in leading small teams or mentoring junior welders.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the welding crew.
  • Commitment to safety and a willingness to learn safe work practices.

  • Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
