Purpose of the Job

To safely and efficiently operate and transport the Flash Butt Welding (FBW) truck to designated rail welding locations ensuring timely support for welding operations. The driver is responsible for positioning the truck accurately for welding activities maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition and coordinating with the welding operator and site teams to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

Drive and transport the FBW truck to various rail welding sites as per the daily schedule.

Position the truck precisely according to welding operators requirements.

Ensure compliance with road and site safety regulations during transit and on-site operations.

Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of the FBW truck (fuel tires fluids etc.).

Maintain accurate logs of mileage fuel usage and service records.

Assist in securing the truck and equipment during idle periods or relocation.

Communicate effectively with the welding operator and site teams to coordinate movements.

Report any mechanical issues or incidents promptly to the maintenance team and supervisor.

Support logistics planning by providing feedback on site access terrain and travel times.

Functional Requirements

Valid heavy vehicle driving license appropriate Israeli Type C

Ability to operate specialized vehicles in construction and rail environments.

Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle upkeep.

Familiarity with GPS and route planning tools.

Understanding of site safety and traffic management procedures.

Desired Knowledge and Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience driving heavy-duty trucks preferably in construction or rail projects.

Experience working in coordination with technical teams on-site.

Knowledge of rail construction environments is a plus.

Familiarity with Flash Butt Welding operations (not operation itself but logistical support).
