Job Description

This position plays a vital role in supporting both students and instructors within the Facility and Service Technology (FAST) program by providing hands-on assistance in laboratory settings. It involves guiding students and work-study personnel in shop areas ensuring they receive the necessary instructional support. Additionally the role includes preparing lab environments by coordinating with instructors to determine setup requirements organizing supplies and specialized equipment and maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the lab space for instructional activities.

Beyond direct lab support this position is responsible for managing inventory and supply control to ensure the smooth operation of experiments and demonstrations. Regular inventory checks are conducted and supply needs are communicated to supervisors for timely ordering. The role also encompasses other duties as assigned to maintain departmental efficiency and uphold the institutions standards of excellence. Compliance with all relevant policies procedures and regulations is essential to support the organizations reputation as a reliable and professional educational partner.

Salary Range:

$20.89 - $28.78 / hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree sufficient to provide technical lab services for or relevant licensure in facility and services technologies or
  • 6 months of teaching/tutoring experience in Facility and Services Technology at the high school level or above or
  • 2 years of work experience in Facilities and Services Technologywhere no degree/certificate/diploma/licensure is required or
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience in the MinnState higher education system
