UNSW Library is a leading Australian research library supporting a diverse community of academic and research staff and students across multiple campuses and affiliated institutes.
We are seeking a Publications & Visual Design Officer to join our Special Collections & Exhibitions unit. Reporting to the Publications & Visual Communications Coordinator this new role will help develop and maintain high-quality publications and visual communications ensuring a consistent and compliant visual identity across all Library services both digital and physical.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in creating and maintaining digital content for the Librarys website and online platforms ensuring brand compliance
Support design and production of materials such as presentations signage promotional items merchandise and infographics
Help develop and organise the Library Image Bank for use across communication channels
Research vendors obtain quotes and manage sourcing of supplies
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on timelines and deliverables
Provide basic design advice and support on branding compliance to Library staff

Who You Are
We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSWs values aims and commitment and comes with:
Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education training and experience. Graphic design qualifications and experience essential
Demonstrated current proficiency using design and presentation software specifically the Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft PowerPoint
Experience in photographing events spaces and portraits including knowledge of camera equipment composition and post-production editing
Effective time management organisational and problem-solving skills including the ability to meet deadlines and ethically use AI technologies to streamline workflows
Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills to work effectively as part of a creative team and the ability to articulate creative concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively whilst adhering to procedural guidelines and task directives
A strong eye for detail ensuring accuracy quality and consistency across all exhibition materials
Knowledge of intellectual property Artificial Intelligence copyright and moral rights laws and conventions as they relate to creation of visual communications assets.
