We are currently seeking an innovative and inspirational leader to join the ESS team in the role of Regional Executive Chef. This role will report to the General Manager of Operations and is responsible for driving the ESS food philosophy through the business to a wide range of people; from our chefs and cooks to our catering attendants and managers you will have the ability to tap into their unique talents and motivate them to take the business from good to great in quality food and service addition to this your passion will drive you to develop culinary talent and capability continuously seeking out innovation to incorporate on-trend food solutions.
The Position:
- Develop a broad suite of innovative options in the culinary space to meet the vision of hospitality transformation.
- Integrate these options across the broader innovation landscape in the living precinct (accommodation living spaces recreation etc).
- Support sustainability and social initiatives.
- Develop and implement consistent food standards operating concepts and programs for the client.
- Update and refresh existing Compass Group culinary concepts to improve quality cost safety resident experience or choice.
- Coach the culinary teams to ensure the delivery of best value quality services effective planning meeting of objectives management of priorities and the appropriate delegation of responsibilities.
- Act as a subject matter expert in spotting and developing culinary talent.
- Model and drive a culture of open communication at all levels to create an environment where employees at the site level are engaged in business objectives and activities.
- Lead manage and motivate a large team of senior chefs chefs and catering staff.
- Follow company health safety and security procedures always.
- Manage & lead various projects surrounding menu planning and presentation. expectations and streamlining the kitchens.
The Person:
- A qualified Chef with extensive experience in the Food Services Industry in a leadership role.
- Experience managing & leading the running of the kitchen food preparation & cooking.
- Implementation of allergy awareness controls.
- Function and menu development skills are essential.
- Passionate about delivering world-class customer service.
- Excellent work ethic with great communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional manner.
- Experience in retail cafés and standardisation in multi-sites.
- A strong leader with the ability to coach mentor and inspire people from all cultures and motivations.
- An eye for detail quality and presentation standards.
- Experience in developing strategies and implementing activities to drive financial. results customer satisfaction and market share.
- Ability to deliver customer-oriented solutions creatively and profitably.
- Excellent verbal communication written communication analytical problem-solving decision making and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with multiple stakeholders (e.g. customers owners colleagues suppliers corporate).
- Effective influence negotiation conflict management and consensus-building skills.
- Strong understanding of the interrelationship of departments such as FOH BOH marketing sales and supply chain and linking well with key stakeholders.
- Proven experience in understanding & managing multiple brands/venues.
- Excellent project and change management skills.
- Self-managed and motivated and ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Strong financial management skills especially the ability to analyse P&L statements.
- Good understanding of workforce analysis and labour productivity.
- IT & Computer literate.
