Hybrid:Our physical office is in Olympia WA. We offer flexible work schedules and locations. This is a hybrid position where most of the work allows teleworking. However you must travel to in-person activities meetings and events as needed for business purposes

The job opportunity
Were seeking a Business Solutions Analyst to play a key role in maintaining and improving the Foundation Data Model (FDM)the states chart of accounts which serves as the foundation of Workdays transaction processing reporting and this role youll design and implement FDM changes to reflect system updates and agency-specific needs provide advanced user support and troubleshooting for complex FDM issues and collaborate with business owners Workday users and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective system solutions. Duties

What you will work on

  • Seek to understand the needs of business owners Workday users and stakeholders.
    • Maintain productive relationships with designated stakeholders to understand policies procedures and established standards.
  • Design and implement FDM changes to reflect software updates approved changes and agency-specific updates in an efficient and timely manner.
    • Analyze large volumes of data to ensure the FDM and hierarchies are accurate.
    • Create process documentation implement process improvements and keep documentation up to date.
    • Create and load FDM changes using Excel templates.
    • Work with ITSD teams to establish more efficient ways to load data.
    • Adhere to protocols and standards for facilitating configurations and software changes in an accurate efficient and compliant manner.
    • Create and deliver communications to external agencies regarding changes to the FDM.
  • Maintain and improve the Workday Services documentation repository and knowledge base strategy and approach. This includes:
    • Maintain requirements user stories and other documentation of the states configuration and implementation of Workday.
    • Provide content expertise develop and deploy information about Workday that will serve as:
      • Internal documentation and learning.
      • Guides for service desk responders.
      • Foundational information for training materials.
      • Self-help guidance for system users available through the Service Now portal Workday Help or other means.
  • Contribute to analysis and recommendations provided to business owner organizations governance groups and partners.
    • System users and stakeholders will identify needs for system enhancement and change. The configuration team will play a critical role in helping decision makers understand the level of effort potential consequences related issues implications risks and implementation options associated with a change proposal. The team will explore ways to mitigate or resolve these concerns.
    • With each new Workday release the team will review the proposed new features and changes analyze benefits and impacts and make recommendations on the features to adopt.
    • Analyze how the system can best address complex business problems reduce risks and improve processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze large datasets conduct gap analysis and provide innovative solutions.
  • Advanced Excel skills including ability to use basic and advanced formulas creating and analyzing data using pivot tables and sorting filtering and analyzing large sets of data.
  • Experience in Washington State government including familiarity with the states chart of accounts and systems such as Enterprise Reporting and Web Intelligence.
  • Ability to create manage and maintain accurate and organized documentation.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time and tasks in high-volume environments.
  • Experience developing or changing business processes and effectively communicating those changes to key stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in business administration public administration or other related field or additional relevant work experience.
  • Four years of system analyst business analyst product owner or similar role experience supporting financial or accounting systems preparing analyses and recommendations for decision makers.
  • Experience managing operating configuring or implementing Workday is highly desirable. Similar experience with another software-as-a-service ERP or similar enterprise or state-wide software product.
  • In-depth knowledge of Workday system and its modules. Relevant Workday certifications are highly desirable.
  • Ability to learn software configuration concepts and techniques (acquired through training attendance) and apply them in such a manner to develop a foundation of ability to support the software in production.
