At Suffolk County Council were using data to build brighter futures. Were looking for a visionary Head of Data Intelligence and Systems to lead our Childrens and Young Peoples Service (CYP) Data Intelligence and systems team in transforming how we use data to support our community. This isnt just a job; its an opportunity to reimagine the possibilities and make a tangible impact on the lives of individuals across Suffolk.

Your role and responsibilities

As the Head of Data Intelligence and Systems in Children & Young Peoples Services you will lead intelligence insight and reporting including statutory reporting. Your role is pivotal in taking forward our transformation and improvement journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing analytical leadership across CYP being a visible senior trusted expert on data and analytics.
  • Managing statutory reporting while pioneering advanced analytics approaches including data linkage across education social care health and youth justice data. The introduction of predictive analytics the use of robotic process automation and the potential use of AI.
  • Use data to develop scenarios evaluate interventions and demonstrate the effectiveness of our services ensuring were making a real difference.
  • Presenting insight and intelligence within CYP to various decision-making forums tailoring communications to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Leading a team of dedicated analysts to maximise their potential and deliver exceptional results.
  • Developing and curating intuitive dashboards so that complex information is easy for staff to access interpret correctly.
  • Working closely with teams and practitioners across CYP and more widely within SCC and with key partners such as the ICB to maximise the impact of intelligence in supporting teams and improving outcomes.
  • Play a key role in preparing for Social Care SEND Youth Justice and Health inspections showcasing the power of data in delivering high-quality care and outcomes.

You will need

  • A relevant masters degree or higher in an analytically demanding subject or expert-level operational experience in an analytical intelligence role.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with practitioners teams and very senior leaders across CYP and SCC more widely.
  • Experience in managing a team and working in a complex system in a time of change.
  • High levels of analytical competence including all Microsoft software packages and knowledge of analytical packages and languages which could include MS PBI R SQL and/or Python.
