Your role

We are looking for a Front Office (FO) Equity & Commodity Derivatives Quant/Developer.

Within the global ING Group and its large client base ING Financial Markets offers a unique access to all financial products. As a quant/developer you will work with a highly specialised team. On a regular basis there will be meetings with traders and structurers which are currently centralised in London and Amsterdam.

The FM Quant team is a global team within the FM organization that provides quantitative expertise required to price and risk manage derivatives products. The main tasks of the team are in the area of model analytics and development.

The team based in Amsterdam consists of about 18 professionals that develop pricing and risk models that are used globally by different trading locations and risk departments with a special emphasis on counterparty credit risk models.

Your key responsibilities

Quantitative modelling involves the specification calibration and integration of (stochastic) models designed to price and hedge (exotic) derivative positions taken by trading desks in Financial Markets. A range of quantitative methods and models are deployed to tackle specific issues in these markets.

For a quant-developer position the tasks in this area are:

  • Extension and maintenance of an existing quant library;
  • Maintenance creation and extension of APIs of the quant library towards FO-applications;
  • Prticipation in several initiatives regarding calculation performance and risk monitoring;
  • All issues related to the development and integration of models into the existing model libraries framework and the FO-systems.

Currently emphasis is being placed on:

  • Extending the testing framework (including for validation purposes);
  • Upgrade of the FO System Sophis;
  • Switch of native vendor models (Finastra) towards ING internal versions;
  • Provide quantitative support for the data models;
  • Developing APIs for and integration of the Equity & Commodity Derivatives library into the IPA Engine (ING Pricing Architecture with main focus on EOD/VaR).

Both require interacting with other stakeholders such as Trading Risk Management and IT.

As a Front Office (FO) Equity & Commodity Derivatives Quant/Developer you will also need:

  • A strong interest in the financial world affinity and/or experience with financial quant models is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and experience with programming languages mainly C
  • Experience with design and implementation of APIs creating test environments and calculation performance
  • Experience with (Finastra) Sophis Toolkit is a plus
  • A constructive attitude and is a team player
  • The ability to work in a challenging and changing environment
  • Ideally 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a Financial Markets or Risk environment (Front Office or Model Validation)
