Temporary SEN Teaching Assistant

Daily Rate: 100130

Are you an experienced and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children or young people with autism and complex needs

What Were Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with autism (ASD) or SEN essential.
  • Knowledge of communication strategies such as PECS Makaton or AAC desirable.
  • Team Teach training or equivalent behaviour management qualification advantageous.
  • Calm patient and proactive approach with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with autism complex needs and learning disabilities across classroom and 1:1 settings.
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.
  • Promote communication independence and social interaction using evidence-based strategies.
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour creating a calm and positive learning space.
  • Build strong trusting relationships with pupils to help them thrive academically and emotionally.
  • Collaborate with teachers therapists and other professionals to meet each childs individual needs.
