The Services Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of Hyperscale and NEXTDC infrastructure. You will be responsible for the ongoing operation and maintenance of critical plant and systems ensuring full compliance with Uptime Institute (UTI) Operational Sustainability Gold standards.
In this role youll coordinate and oversee third-party contractors deliver high-quality technical support and contribute directly to exceptional customer service outcomes. This position requires a strong focus on operational excellence reliability and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operate and maintain critical infrastructure to meet NEXTDCs uptime standards.
- Manage contractors to ensure services align with Uptime Institute Gold standards.
- Participate in on-call roster to support critical systems and respond to issues.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with safety facility and company policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance and testing to optimize system reliability.
- Maintain accurate site documentation and support certifications.
- Assist with training risk management and emergency procedures.
About you:
- Foundational understanding of data centre infrastructure including electrical mechanical cooling and fire protection systems.
- Knowledge of rack management installation processes and design principles.
- Familiarity with relevant codes standards and regulatory requirements for critical infrastructure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with building management and monitoring systems.
- Strong planning organisational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate build rapport and influence stakeholders.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 2 years experience in data centre facilities building services or related maintenance roles.
- Current NV1 Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one is essential.
- Trade qualification in Electrical Telecommunications or Mechanical (Air Conditioning) preferred.
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical or engineering field is desirable.
