Role description:
The Electromechanic Journeyman is responsible for all mechanical and electrical maintenance of process equipment and general facility equipment.
Compensation:
The starting pay rate for this role is $40.34 per hour. Any future increases are dictated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Rotating 1st 2nd and 3rd shifts
Responsibilities:
Ensure proper and safe operation of all production machine systems
Communicate and work with Plant Engineering Manager Maintenance Supervisors Production Supervisors Scheduler and production staff
Maintain and repair production equipment such as conveyors glass forming machines furnaces case erectors inserters palletizers strappers and other packaging systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors relays switches and high-voltage circuits (up to 480V)
Perform mechanical repairs on gears bearings chains hydraulics and pneumatics.
Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment uptime.
Document work performed by creating and/or completing work orders in CMMS system
Use diagnostic tools (multimeters PLC interfaces etc.) to identify and correct system faults.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize system performance.
Adhere to all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
Participate in installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed
Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within department responsibilities
Minimum skills / qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Five (5) years of experience in a production manufacturing environment
Experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred) and automated control systems.
Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience repairing conveyors gearboxesand hydraulics.
Knowledge of basic safety procedures
Ability to follow and retain directions as well as manage multiple tasks
Ability to read blueprints and perform job layouts for electrical circuitry and devices
Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Able to handle multiple tasks with the capability of prioritizing and planning work activities
Must be able to pass the Ramsey Test
Preferred skills / qualifications:
Technical school degree
Strong understanding of electrical systems motor controls and high-voltage safety protocols.
Journeyman card or equivalent
