Job Summary
- Full Time
The Food Microbiologist is responsible for performing analytical methods operating equipment/analytical instruments and managing sample registration testing and confirmation.
The Food Microbiologist may have a supervisory role over an area within the laboratory a particular suite of testing or provide general guidance to the Laboratory Technicians in the laboratory. The position will support method development laboratory optimisation and have a major contribution to the objectives of the laboratory including PCR Setup and reporting.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately logically and directly.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Good laboratory skills and practices.
Qualifications :
- Tertiary qualifications in Science or equivalent qualification; or equivalent experience.
- At least 1-2 years Food laboratory experience; experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.
- Experience in using different equipment/instrumental and sample preparation techniques.
- Technical knowledge in the relevant scientific discipline.
- Good knowledge of standard office applications especially MS Word and MS Excel.
