FPI ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN I

OVERVIEW

Responsible for installing maintaining and repairing a wide range of electronic systems used for communication security and surveillance within the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates assigned machine according to specifications. May lift workpiece manually and position secure and/or remove it from holding fixture.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig fixture or other holding device.
  • Crimps stakes screws bolts or secures parts in place using hand tools power tools machines and equipment
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components connectors terminals and contact points using soldering or related bonding procedures and equipment
  • Observes machine operation and visually verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications using simple measuring instruments
  • Verifies quality of own work and may verify quality of work for other assigned persons on the line and notifies supervisor/group leader of any nonconformances
  • May read blueprints or job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances
  • May pack and transport finished workpiece.
  • Practices good housekeeping by keeping work area free of debris and unnecessary clutter.
  • Performs work in accordance with all safety rules and regulations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.
  • Serves on related committees and participates in meetings as required.
  • Actively supports the defined goals and objectives of the company.
  • Projects a professional total-quality image in all aspects of this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 1 years of related production/manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Solid oral and written business communication skills (bilingual Spanish a plus).
  • Good organizational and work prioritization skills.
  • Manual Dexterity to sufficiently operate equipment and test equipment safely.
  • Near vision with or without correction for verifying quality of work.
  • Soldering Certified required.
  • Desire for growth and advancement

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Up to 10% travel may be required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time frequently bending climbing rotating squatting reaching kneeling or stooping lifting up to 25 pounds and periods of computer use.

Employees may be frequently exposed to heat/cold heights gases vibration dust chemicals odors dampness fumes and noises.
