Custodian - 1st Shift

Shoreline Container Zeeland

Rate: $18.50/hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6 am - 2 pm

Role Summary: Works under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor. Provides excellent customer support by performing custodial related activities in a timely and cost effective manner.

What Youll Do:

1. Perform a variety of routine and generalized cleaning and custodial duties as directed including but not limited to the following:

• Cleaning and general upkeep of restroom facilities breakroom area Specialties and Paperboard areas.
• Sweeping floors.
• Empty trash containers into the proper receptacles.
• Pick up trash from the lawn and parking lots weather permitting.
• Snow removal and application of salt to prevent slipping hazards on walkways and entrances.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning related supplies.
• General custodial activities of facility including walls electrical panels safety railings and ceilings via aerial lift.

2. Assist in light maintenance work i.e. Change light bulbs painting etc.

3. Perform other duties as assigned by management personnel.

4. Assure excellent housekeeping of facility.

5. Support and adhere to internal quality and safety programs.

Work Environment:

• The job is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise dust varying temperatures and moving mechanical parts.
• Safety gear must be worn as required.

What Youll Need:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Excellent attendance and dependability.
3. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
4. Ability to lift bend stand and twist over long periods.
5. Must possess proficient communication skills in the English language in reading writing and verbal communication.
6. Must possess strong interpersonal organizational and time management skills to ensure completion of all tasks.
7. Experience working in a factory environment preferred.
8. Must be able to work with frequently changing priorities.

2. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for extended number of hours per shift walk bend stoop squat and use hands to handle or feel.
3. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
4. The employee is required to reach with hand and arms to complete a wide variety of tasks.
5. The employee must regularly lift push or pull and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
6. Specific vision abilities required by this hon include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus.
