Job Description

PG - I

Provide direct supervision and plans work of a team/unit of Eligibility Specialist determining program eligibility. Assists in the development of uniform policy interpretations securing services and timely benefits and evaluating quality. Maintains a system of management to monitor quality quantity and timeliness of benefits

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct supervision and support to assigned team/unit of EligibilitySpecialists.
  • Provides direct supervision and support to the assigned unit/team.
  • Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of services provided to customers in addition to assigned programmatic responsibilities to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved.
  • Ensures agency compliance with policies appropriate documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Develops and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within units(s) and with other agencies and providers.
  • Assess assigned staff performance and provide ongoing development and training.
  • Interviews hires directs trains. and evaluates employees job performance; recommends employee disciplinary and discharge actions as appropriate.
  • Leads and administers a comprehensive system of customer support and public assistance.
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED AND Four (4) years of job-related customer contact/interaction experience and One (1) year in a lead worker team lead or supervisory role.
OR
  • One (1) year of experience at the lower level Eligibility Spec 3 (SST072) or position equivalent.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications demonstrate some or all the following education/skills/experience:

Agency Specific Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist 2 and/ or 3 with GA DFCS.
  • Trained AND worked in two (2) OR three (3) OFI programs.
  • Must be Gateway Eligibility System trained.
