As a School Nurse (RN) you will:
- Provide direct care to students for acute illnesses injuries and chronic health conditions
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and school policies
- Monitor and manage student health records to ensure compliance with state regulations
- Develop and implement care plans for students with medical needs
- Educate students staff and parents on health-related topics including disease prevention hygiene and wellness
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with emergency services when necessary
- Collaborate with school staff and community health resources to support students well-being
A few must-haves for School Nurses:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in Vermont
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric school health or community health nursing
- Current CPR certification
- Strong assessment skills critical thinking and the ability to work independently
- Compassionate communicator who values collaboration with students staff and families
