A well-known healthcare group is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their Trauma and Acute Care Surgery team. This is a full-time night position (7 PM to 7 AM) in a respected hospital that helps many patients with serious injuries.
Shift(s) Description:
12-hour overnight shifts 7:00 PM7:00 AM
**Job Duties:**
The Nurse Practitioner will:
- Provide care for trauma and surgery patients during the night.
- Evaluate patients order tests and create treatment plans.
- Take care of patients who have had emergencies or surgery while they are in the hospital.
- Assist surgeons with procedures and ongoing care for patients.
- Work independently but also work with doctors and other healthcare team members.
Keep records of all patient care using Epic EMR (an electronic health record system).
- Follow hospital rules and regulations.
- Ensure patient safety and quality care.
**Important Notes:**
- No temporary or part-time jobs available.
- Fresh graduates cannot apply. You need at least two years of experience in trauma surgery or have completed a surgical fellowship.
**Qualifications:**
- You must have a Masters degree in Nursing from an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
REQUIRED- Nurse Practitioner Certification from ANCC or AANPCB.
REQUIRED- A valid license to practice in Colorado.
REQUIRED- You must be eligible to apply for DEA and Medicare/Medicaid.
REQUIRED- A clean record with no malpractice issues.
PREFERRED- No legal sanctions or exclusions from health departments.
REQUIRED- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. REQUIRED
- Experience in trauma surgery (2 years preferred) or completion of a surgical fellowship is highly preferred. PREFERRED
**Certifications Needed:**
- ANCC Certification- BLS Certification
- Board Certified
- DEA Certification
**State License Requirements:**- You need to have a Nurse Practitioner License in Colorado and the required certifications for BLS.
