The four cornerstones of the GAAC program are Grit Resilience Reliability and are looking for qualified experienced candidates for the position of Swimming Assistant Age Group Coach beginning as soon as possible. Qualified applicants will meet the following criteria:Coaching and Team ResponsibilitiesAssists as needed with age group programDirectly assist with the groups that are assigned by the head coachProvides input to coordinate stroke instruction and training principles for the age group programHas prompt attendance on all workout daysEnsures that equipment is stored and maintained in an appropriate mannerEstablishes an environment that fosters a positive team attitude encourages self-discipline sportsmanship self-control and personal responsibilitySupports the mission statement of GAAssists the head coach with the development and implementation of incentives to motivate athletes to achieve individual and team goalsAssists the head coach with all recognition programsPromotes a positive self-image through constructive feedback to athletesAssigns lanes to athletes during workouts to ensure that all athletes get the most out of their trainingChecks the facility both before and after practice to ensure that the deck is clean secure and picked upMakes recommendations to the head coach for athlete advancement within the age group programCommunicationMeets regularly with the head coach to discuss the progress of the age group program and to ensure that the staff remains united with a common visionNotifies the head coach of any significant problems in any of the age group training groupsMaintains effective relations with business leaders community groups media representatives and facilities personnelPromotes GA and GAAC in a positive mannerMaintains a close affiliation with swimming organizations such as USA Swimming and Middle Atlantic SwimmingMaintains close contact with the head coach through daily communicationsPublicizes meet information to athletes and parents Communicates directly with parents when an athlete advances from one age group training group to another in a timely and responsible mannerCommunicates with the head coach and team administrator in a timely fashion when an athlete moves from one training group to another or when an athlete enters or exits the programProgram GrowthRecruits new club members through professional and community contactsAssists with the development and distribution of recruiting materials Assists and attends all fund raising activities with the clubActively involved in the planning development and promotion of the club hosted swim meetsAdministrative ResponsibilitiesAttends all scheduled staff and administrative meetingsProvides input for the planning of the annual budgetMaintains continued athlete recruitment through phone calls emails and exit interviewsEnsures that all awards are given out to the age group athletes or parents in a timely and responsible manner Team Travel and Meet ResponsibilitiesAttends all meets that are assigned by the head coachProvides specific meet information to athletes parents and staff members in a timely mannerCommunicates directly to parents athletes and staff members all important times and deadlines for swim meetsProvides timely coaching instructions and feedback to athletes and is easily accessible throughout the entire meetRemains at meets until all GAAC swimmers have completed their swims or until they are no longer needed or until they are released by the head coachAssists with the preparation of GAAC hosted meets Performance of DutiesMaintains professional integrityComplies with the USA Swimming code of conductExudes the GA Mission at all timesMaintains all necessary credentials to be a certified USA Swimming CoachRepresents the club with the highest moral and ethical behaviorPositive role model for athletesMaintains a professional appearance at all times while representing the clubProfessional Development ResponsibilitiesSeeks and attends professional educational opportunitiesOther DutiesThe head coach may assign other responsibilities and duties as needed
