DescriptionStrait Link is seeking a proactive and experienced Night Coordinator to oversee and manage our evening terminal operations at Webb Dock Melbourne. This is a pivotal role ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of cargo supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers.
About the Role
As the Night Coordinator you will be the key point of contact during evening operations working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless cargo handling and terminal activities. Youll play a vital role in planning directing and managing nightly cargo movements supporting the Terminal Managers and ensuring operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Assist the Terminal Managers with the overall operation of the terminal inclusive of ship discharge and load activities the effective turnaround of trucks throughout the Terminal during evening hours and in preparation for following day operations.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams (Sales Logistics Operations) to ensure timely cargo receival shipment and delivery.
- Collaborate with Burnie and Melbourne terminals to maximise daily uplift.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on cargo bookings volumes and KPIs.
- Support customer service functions including planning tracking and allocations.
- Utilise lead and assist with safety initiatives continuous improvement and system development (CBS Toll Works).
- Manage vessel arrival/departure bookings via POM portal.
- Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods load planning and documentation.
- Perform administrative tasks including data entry and procurement support.
Skills And ExperiencesWhat we are looking for
- Strong computer literacy especially with spreadsheets and databases.
- High-level customer service and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of transport and logistics including shipping and road/rail operations.
- Ability to apply HR policies and contribute to staff training and safety awareness.
- Proven leadership problem-solving and team management capabilities.
- Knowledge of legislative and safety compliance requirements
