The Team
Client Service Workers (CSWs) play a valuable role in the Service Delivery Divisions service to British Columbians seeking income and disability assistance. Working closely with other CSWs and Employment and Assistance Workers CSWs provide important administrative and client service support working comfortably in numerous computer programs on a wide range of tasks in a diverse and busy client service environment.

The Role
The Client Service Worker is primarily responsible for responding to public inquiries relating to income and disability services and providing administrative support to their work unit. CSWs in Duncan work in the Community Services Branch delivering in-office service to Ministry clients.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering a high standard of client service in a high volume fast-paced rapidly changing environment (in-person via virtual technologies or over the telephone).
  • Experience working with various computer applications including MS Word Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience providing services to clients experiencing poverty issues substance use or mental health issues.

Preferences

  • Experience in a social services work environment.
  • Experience providing financial and administrative support.
  • Experience and/or training in conflict management.


Willingness Statements

  • Must be willing and able to display resilience in the face of adversity and demonstrate empathy interacting with citizens.
  • Must be willing and able to use de-esclation techniques to manage some situations.

This position is based out of Vancouver.
An eligibility list may be established for future permanent vacancies in Vancouver.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
