Humanities Teacher - Croydon South London (Catholic School)
We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a well-regarded Catholic secondary school in the vibrant borough of Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students with a love for history geography and religious studies within a faith-based environment.
The Role
The school is seeking a qualified Humanities Teacher with the ability to teach across all three core subjects at Key Stage 3 and specializing in at least one at Key Stage 4 and A-Level. The ideal candidate will be adept at making complex topics accessible and engaging for all students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality lessons in Geography History and Religious Studies to Key Stage 3 students.
- Teaching your specialist subject(s) to GCSE and A-Level preparing students for examinations and life beyond the classroom.
- Developing and implementing a dynamic curriculum that encourages critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world in line with the schools Catholic ethos.
- Collaborating with a supportive team to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Participating in extracurricular activities that enrich students academic experience such as field trips or debate clubs.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A degree in History Geography Religious Studies or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE.
- Proven experience teaching across the Humanities with the ability to teach at least one subject to A-Level.
- A strong passion for your subject and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
- An understanding and appreciation of the Catholic faith and its values within an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is competitive and will be paid to the MPS/UPS scale commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
