Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing developing and implementing control systems for various engineering projects. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles along with proficiency in programming and system design. The Controls Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other automation technologies.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing control systems.
- Collaborate with project teams on project scheduling to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks.
- Create and review schematics CAD drawings and mechanical designs using SolidWorks Creo and other design tools.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision in manufacturing processes.
- Utilize MATLAB Simulink LabVIEW and Arduino for system design and simulation purposes.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate mechanical designs against ASME codes & standards.
- Work on CNC programming and operation to support manufacturing processes.
- Maintain documentation of all engineering processes and changes for compliance and quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo is essential.
- Familiarity with project scheduling techniques and tools is preferred.
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards and application in design is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and controls is necessary.
