Job Summary

This dynamic team designs and implements intuitive interfaces for complex material handling systems including conveyor networks robotic workcells and industrial control systems.
We are seeking a passionate Senior UX Designer to innovate in creating Human Machine Interfacing Platforms to join the AIT team within the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Robotics organization.
Amazons Operations Technology teams are the technical engines that support Amazons mission of being Earths most customer-centric company. We design interfaces that touch every Amazon operations employee globally and innovate solutions for logistics supply chain optimization and transportation. If you are a UX Designer with strong problem-solving skills experience with industrial applications and a passion for creating simple solutions to complex problems we want to talk with you.
Key job responsibilities
- Conduct user research and create personas journey maps and task flows to understand operator needs and behaviors.
- Design intuitive interfaces for complex automation systems using human-centered design principles
- Create wireframes prototypes and high-fidelity designs for various platforms and devices
- Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure design integrity during implementation
- Develop and maintain design systems that scale across multiple applications
- Lead design reviews and usability testing sessions
- Analyze user metrics and feedback to continuously improve interface designs
- Mentor junior designers and promote design best practices across teams

- 8 years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience with design tools such as Photoshop Illustrator and InDesign and prototyping in HTML JavaScript CSS Ajax
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g. conducting usability studies performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Deep understanding of design principles governance and accessibility standards (WCAG) including implementation in the design system
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
- Experience designing in an agile development environment
- Experience in executing lightweight coding of prototypes and basic front-end work.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
