Firmware Tester (Melbourne Based)

Were looking for a Firmware Tester to help ensure the quality and reliability of our embedded this role youll work closely with engineers and developers to test evaluate and enhance firmware performance playing a key part in delivering high-quality technology solutions.

Key details:

• Start date: Week of 10 November
• Mode: 5 days per week at Dandenong Office with flexibility to work from home when the role allows
• Rate: Flexible

Key Responsibilities:

Review of product source code

Undertaking activities based on issues management system

Development of test cases to evaluate normal and boundary conditions and all

ensure high code coverage (all code paths) of C-functions

Evaluation of whether AI generated test code can be adapted and used

Ensure test cases meets automated test framework

Execution of a suite of manual and/or automated test cases and review results

Raising new issues if bug is found

Committing all developed test case code to source control

What Were Looking For

Computer Science or engineering degree involving firmware development

Proficient with C-code language

Familiar with source control tools such as GIT

Familiar with issue management systems such as Atlassian JIRA

Experience in use of AI in test code development optional

Experienced with automated regression testing methodologies optional

Strong knowledge of Embedded C/C and real-time systems

Experience with unit testing

Familiar with STM32 or similar MCUs and IDEs like STM32CubeIDE IAR or MPLAB

Knowledge of communication protocols like UART CAN MODBUS

Hands-on experience testing systems with sensor inputs (analog digital PWM resistive)

Comfortable with lab equipment: oscilloscope logic analyzer multimeter

Experience with Git Agile and continuous integration workflows

Bonus: Familiarity with FreeRTOS safety-critical design or test automation in C#/Python
