Job Summary

Job Purpose
The Accountant will oversee the day-to-day financial operations including accounting budgeting forecasting reporting and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role ensures robust internal controls through the development implementation and monitoring of financial policies and procedures to support business efficiency and compliance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Processes & Reporting
Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and Tanzanian tax regulations.
Develop communicate and implement clear financial processes and procedures.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports as required by management.
Ensure all reports accurately reflect company performance.
Coordinate audit processes and liaise with external auditors in collaboration with the Head of Finance.
Financial Management & Controls
Oversee and strengthen internal control systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Regularly review and enhance control procedures to improve effectiveness.
Identify process gaps or weaknesses and implement corrective actions promptly.
Ensure payments and financial transactions adhere to established internal control procedures.
Monitor cash flow and provide timely reports and insights.
Human Capital Management
Coach guide and support junior finance team members toward achieving business goals.
Motivate mentor and retain key finance talent.
Set team objectives establish KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
Business Advisory & Partnering
Support feasibility studies and project appraisals.
Collaborate with management to establish effective business and financial controls.
Provide accurate financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Recommend and implement internal control and risk management frameworks.
Advise management on the application of accounting legislation and standards.
Analyze financial data and recommend best practices to enhance performance.
Service Excellence
Address internal customer needs promptly and professionally.
Ensure all finance-related queries are resolved in line with departmental service standards.
Maintain high service quality and ensure financial processes meet organizational expectations.
Requirements
Qualifications Skills & Experience
Academic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
Fully qualified ACCA or CPA professional.
Sound knowledge of Tanzanian accounting laws and regulations.
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
Proven leadership and people management experience.
Tanzanian nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
