We are currently accepting applications for 7International Language Instructors . The Instructor provides instruction to small groups of adult learners with a specific program focus (i.e. ESL LBS LINC) in accordance with respective and established assessment standards. The instructor consults with the Manager or Team Leader to deliver program assignments and works collaboratively within a team environment to ensure that appropriate programming is delivered accordingly to applicable and designated Ministry and Board requirements.

7 temporary International Language Instructor positions available for weekly Saturday program delivery:

3 Arabic Instructors at 4 hours from 8:00am - 12:00pm

2 Tamil Instructors at 4 hours from 8:00am - 12:00pm

1 Tamil Instructor at 4.5 hours from 8:00am - 12:30 pm

1 Urdu Instructor at 4 hours from 8:00am - 12:00pm

Must be fluent in respective language (reading writing listening speaking)

Location:TR Leger Cornwall

Qualifications and Experience:

Possess a three year university degree or three year college diploma with a concentration in education social work sociology psychology linguistics or applied languages or in a related field. Familiarity with community support agencies pertaining to adult family or employment-related issues is preferred.

Skills Required:
Demonstrated understanding of the basic precepts of adult education
Demonstrated understanding of the HRSDCs 9 Essential Skills
Knowledge and ability to use Canadian Language Benchmarks effectively (where applicable to program focus)
Knowledge and ability to use assessment tools for adult literacy learners i.e. (Common Assessment of Basic Skills where applicable to program focus)
Demonstrated ability to make logical decisions
Strong interpersonal skills ability to function as a role model and a self starter
Demonstrated patience and understanding adaptability and flexibility
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to learn new software database systems
Well developed listening skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a variety of responsibilities concurrently
Ability to prioritize tasks set objectives plan work in advance and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to respect and maintain confidentiality of information
Proficient with word processing database programs and e-mail e.g. Word Perfect/Word Excel Outlook e-mail internet
Accuracy in tracking attendance and student file management
Demonstrated positive attitude towards adult learning and learners ability to improve

Selection Process:

Applicants selected for an interview will be invited to attend a virtual live interview via Microsoft Teams. Interviews typically include a panel of two (2) Hiring Managers.
