About the Role

The Assistant Principal is a key member of the schools leadership team working closely with the Principal to foster a positive inclusive and high-achieving school culture. The Assistant Principal supports the strategic direction of the school by contributing to collaborative decision-making goal setting and the implementation of initiatives that enhance teaching and learning. The Assistant Principal oversees the delivery of evidence-based practices monitors student progress and uses data to inform continuous improvement. A strong focus is placed on supporting teachers through professional development coaching and mentoring while also strengthening partnerships with families and the wider community. This position requires a balance of instructional leadership operational management and a commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically socially and emotionally.

Qualificationsand Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor or Master of Teaching.
  • Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Religious Education or Theological Studies or the willingness to undertake.
  • Academic qualifications additional to initial teacher education (Masters Degree or five-year equivalent).
  • Practicing Catholic connected to a parish or other worshipping community.
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest.
  • Have completed or be due to complete Accreditation E in accordance with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn Policy.
