Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate is an experienced dependable and organized professional capable of leading the clinical team maintaining compliance and ensuring smooth daily operations across all specialties.
Compensation
- $65k - $75k based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage dental assistant and sterilization technician schedules to ensure efficient chair turnover and optimal patient flow
- Train mentor and onboard new dental assistants and sterilization technicians
- Assist chairside across all dental specialties including General Dentistry Orthodontics Periodontics Endodontics Oral Surgery and Pediatrics
- Maintain and enforce OSHA HIPAA and infection control compliance standards
- Manage supply ordering inventory tracking and budget control using approved vendors and platforms
- Coordinate with the front desk team to support cross-functional tasks such as treatment planning patient flow and chart completion
- Ensure daily sterilization operatory setup/breakdown and equipment maintenance are completed to standard
- Collaborate with providers and management to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and team development
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Dental Assistant license (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience (lead or senior role preferred)
- Proficiency in Dentrix Ascend required
- Strong knowledge of OSHA HIPAA and infection control compliance
- Experience assisting across multiple dental specialties
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Proven experience in training and mentoring clinical staff
- Cross-trained in front desk duties (scheduling insurance verification charting and treatment planning)
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Availability to work Saturdays and Evenings required
