Location and Work

This position can be hybrid at our offices in Independence Ohio or Emerald Isle North Carolina. The ability to work in our office with a hybrid schedule is required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

About the Position and Our Team

The Assistant Controller is responsible for directing the companys domestic financial policies. Oversees all US controlling functions including accounting entries month-end close procurement accounts payable billing collections and treasury. Provides support and recommendations to senior leadership and uses extensive experience and knowledge to plan and accomplish strategic financial goals. Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial operations safeguarding companys assets and developing efficient business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead staff of five (5) to include interviewing hiring training coaching and reviewing.
  • Preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Design implement adhere to and improve upon policies and procedures that result in financial reporting accuracy timeliness and compliance for a dynamic and growing company.
  • Completion and ownership of month-end close procedures journal entries and deadlines.
  • Reconciliation of subledger to general ledger for balance sheet accounts.
  • Support cash forecasting analysis and treasury functions for the business.
  • Lead the relationship with external public accounting firm that oversees annual audit and annual pass-through entity tax returns.
  • Complete monthly analytics and analysis based on actual results compared to budgets and forecasts.
  • Sales tax ownership.
  • Preparation of quarterly partner distributions
  • Oversee year-end tax information reporting (1099s).
  • Job responsibilities and any other duties needed to help drive our vision fulfill our mission and support our organizations value


Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field.
  • Active CPA license is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of audit or similar accounting experience.
  • Experience with all components of financial controls for private company.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage Intacct or related financial systems.
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent leadership communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to complete work independently and accurately.
