Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer-Glass Specialist

We are seeking a senior-level manufacturing engineer to lead and support efforts to enhance manufacturing processes on a highly automated glass production line. This role emphasizes safety quality and productivity improvements with the goal of driving performance and supporting the achievement of key metrics and overall company objectives.
Responsibilities:- Plans directs and optimizes manufacturing processes by developing and improving methods based on product design materials fabrication techniques tooling equipment capabilities assembly practices and quality standards.
- Analyzes labor utilization space needs and workflow to design efficient safe equipment and workspace layouts.
- Serves as the technical expert for glass manufacturing processes including thermal tempering paint coating silk-screen printing and lamination.
- Acts as a technical advisor on glass equipment and technology supporting equipment installation recipe setup associate training and troubleshooting activities.
- Uses statistical analysis to project future manufacturing needs and capabilities.
- Provides manufacturability input to New Product Development (NPD) and Design to Value (DTV) engineering teams for glass product designs.
- Enhances production efficiency through workflow analysis space planning equipment layout and implementation of Design for Manufacture (DFM) strategies.
- Assesses capital equipment investments by obtaining quotes preparing cost justifications and managing project execution and outcomes.
- Performs make-versus-buy analyses on components of existing products.
- Coordinates project implementation by assigning tasks and managing schedules for third-party service providers automation partners and internal project teams.
Must have skills & experience:- A four-year degree is required preferably in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience in glass manufacturing including thermal tempering processes and equipment troubleshooting.
- At least three years of engineering experience focused on implementing or optimizing highly automated manufacturing processes.
Desired skills & experience:- Proven strengths in project management data analysis and problem-solving.
- Hands-on experience with glass manufacturing processes including cutting seaming thermal tempering silk-screen printing and paint coating.
- Skilled in troubleshooting automated glass equipment HMI systems and developing process recipes.
- Capable of building trust and collaborating effectively across all organizational levels.
- Adept at identifying and implementing improvements in complex manufacturing systems.
- Proficient with 2D CAD; experience with 3D CAD is a plus.
- Ensures accurate and timely tracking of project progress and outcomes.
- Leads advanced problem-solving initiatives and cross-functional teams as assigned.
- Experienced in designing efficient facility layouts.
